Nothing but a clearer head.

Well i have been thinking about posting. But due to lifes commitments, have been fairly preoccupied. That and the fact nothing has really changed since my last post.

I am regularly taking one dose of 5mg in the morning when i wake about 7 -7:30am. Then waiting an hour to have coffee and breakfast.

I take my second dose of the day between 4-5pm. At least an hour before food.

I can't say I've noticed much of a change. I once forgot about an evening dose. I took it an hour late. But i noticed everything ached, especially my lower back and elbows. Went away a few hours after I had the tablet.
The other 3 main things I've noticed are:

1) I am getting regular headaches about 30mins -2hrs after taking a dose. Sometimes they go on there own, sometimes i have to take a ibruprofen. But they always go after that.

2) Extremely tired in evening after 9pm and find it difficult to stay awake past 10pm.

3) This is the most impressive. NO WORRIES! Had an epiphany on Saturday. Very stressed and angry but told myself Im not going to worry about things anymore, and it worked. Been calmer ever since! I don't know if it's just a coincidence, that I've just got to that braking point in my life where something has to give. Or its the fact that the T3 has made my head clearer so that i can think logically. I can put things into perspective and concentrate on me.

I honestly don't know which of the 2 it is, all I know is my brain is clearer and less messed up than its ever been. It seems odd that its happened at the same time as starting T3. We shall see how it continues.

Initial doses

After trial and error with my doses. It's day 3 for me and I'm getting more of the error side so far!

I have 20mcg tablets, was advised by the gp to take one tab every other day. However this seemed like awful lot in one go. The thyroid uk website people advised 10mcg a day. So split my tablet once. Then to split it again to take some morning and some afternoon. The first dose I took 5:30pm Tuesday.

The first time I took it I felt amazing. Warm hands for the first time in my life. Not icy cold, or boiling hot, red and swollen. Just normal. I felt awake, happy, energetic. I did not have my normal red blotches. I was actually able to speak sentences without getting my words muddled and even remember what I was saying if I had to pause.

I took my next dose 6am the following day. Then slept for an hour before having coffee and cereal at 7:30am. First thing in the morning I did actually feel good. I slept well and woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. I had no pins and needles in my hands, no ringing in my ears. The weird thing I noticed was it was easier to wee! I have no idea what that was about. I'd never realised it was difficult til yesterday when it was easy!

As the day went on I began to slide. The energy began to disappear. After I ate at 12:30, I had no motivation. Couldn't remember what i had to do. I spent my afternoon going up and down the stairs forgetting what I was doing. Took me an hour and a half to do a small amount of washing up which should only have taken 20mins! I felt like I was on auto pilot without the settings. I felt cold. I just wanted to lie down and sleep.

Wanted to take another dose but as I'd had food new it probably wouldn't work.

I felt bad between 12-3pm. Then had my 2nd daily dose at 4pm, just before I went swimming. Started swimming well tired very quickly after 40 lengths. But still more awake afterwards.

The evening not a lot of difference. Very middle ground. Felt very tired about 9:30. Forgot to charge my phone, and toothbrush, very unusual. Then again slept well.

This morning have had my first dose at 7:30am in the hope it's less time between when I'm without. No coffee, cereal at 8:45.

Today definitely worse. Woke up very depressed and hopeless. Tired. Have headache. Hands very numb, but wrists painful, very difficult to type this! Ears ringing. Cold. But on a separate note fire isn't working which doesn't help.

I do think I need a dose at lunch time, but im already cutting a tablet into 4, I think cutting it into 6 will be impossible! If it gets really bad I might up my dose earlier than advised so I can have it at lunch.

Today is first day back at work. So we'll see how that goes.

A new beginning

I know, I know. I have neglected this blog once again. The trying harder obviously didn't work. The brain fog returned and I was only able to concentrate on what was essential.

However now I have a new reason for blogging. The origin of this site was to uncover the fluoride conspiracy, and was meant to help others. Unfortunately I'm going to have to change it's direction.

Hopefully It may still help others suffering the same types of issues, and I will try and post relevant articles when they come up. But ultimately this blog is now about me.

So why the reason for the change? Well I've finally been able to persuade the doctor I need some help other than the common anti depressants and counselling I was offered before.

I have believed for many months it's my thyroid that's the problem. Probably something that has been affected by fluoride that surrounds us.

I have tried natural aids, such as the coconut oil, with some success. However it's not been as dramatic as I'd hoped. Probably because I haven't given it the right amount if time and attention. But there are some niggling doubts within me that think it may not be the thyroid.

That's why I've asked my Gp for a trial of T3 hormone. That way, hopefully, I will know for sure if my problems are from my thyroid. If it helps we can hopefully say problem solved. If it doesn't I don't know where we go!

Anyway I started my t3 trial yesterday. This blog will now follow my progress on this hormone.

Oil Pulling

I've been steadily feeling worse and worse with each new day I've had   back on the gluten. Yesterday I felt awful. Was wide awake early in the morning. Then had no energy all day. I had no motivation and when I realised I better get on with some chores I barely had the strength to do the washing up. My stomach was beyond painful and kept cramping up. So I basically gave up on the day, and sat surfing the web.

That's when I cam across Oil Pulling.  Yes that's right Oil Pulling. I'd never heard of it until yesterday but needless to say once I did, I had to find out more.
From what I've found It's basically just using oil as mouthwash, keeping it swishing for 20 minutes. Its called pulling 1) Because you're supposed to 'pull' it through you're teeth and 2) Because it apparently 'pulls' all the toxins from your body.

I constant read and research stuff and although deep down I'd really like to believe, I look at everything with a sceptical eye. Oil pulling seems to be the latest detox craze but I feel like this may be better than the others.

There never seem to be sites that are in the middle. You find either bitter skeptics or sites full of nothing but praise. I tend to read the two then form an opinion somewhere in the middle from all the info. From what I found Oil pulling seems to work in about 90% of cases. About 50% seem to have amazing results.

So last night I thought it's worth a try. See what happens, after all what harm can a natural substance do? Unlike other fads, its not like I'm wasting any money. So I decided to give it a try. Have waited until morning as I read it's best to do it on an empty stomach (or 4hours after eating). Otherwise you may feel sick.

I used virgin coconut oil since I have it in the house. Coconut oil is also good because of it's antibacterial, anti viral and anti fungal properties, and has a pleasant taste.
So I swished and I pulled for just over twenty mins. I spat it down the toilet as apparently it's very toxic. I rinsed my mouth  with water then brushed my teeth.

What I noticed was my teeth were very clean and smooth, and did look slightly whiter. However no disrespect to the principle but scientifically it's going to, putting any fluid in your mouth and essentially soaking your teeth for 20 mins is going to loosen and remove debris. Especially oil due to osmotic principles. Where the thicker  substance is going to diffuse itself.

But weirdly this was not the only thing noticeable. Being slightly clumsy I accidentally spat a bit out. A tiny bit landed on my leg, a bit on my arm and a bit on my palm. I wiped  it away quickly but after a couple of minutes my arm and leg were fine. My palm was not, there was a small red area on my palm that felt like it was burning! It continued to 'burn' for a few minutes, then subsided and the redness went. Coincidence it might be, but very interesting none the less.

Oil pulling is supposed to detox you apparently because nerves from all over your body end in your mouth. So  you can pull the toxins out from everywhere.

It is also supposed to create a lot of mucus and clear out your airways. Some people notice streaming from as soon as 10 minutes in. I did not experience this, but oddly enough, did feel pressure related pain in my forehead whilst doing it.  Then not long ago I sneezed and a lot if mucus  came up from my throat. Not something that's at all common.

So all in all I certainly haven't experienced dramatic miracle reactions like others. But I am thinking there might be something to it. I shall persevere, for all I know I might be so congested it will take a while to get the ball rolling. I might also try a different oil, Sesame is supposed to be the best as it penetrates deeper in the tissues.
Anyway we'll see!

Gluten Free

After having one of the most severe reactions to fluoride today I feel inclined to blog about it. Having been absent since my first post I am annoyed at myself for neglecting this blog. It was supposed to help me document my health and I haven't bothered.

Anyway today is a new start.

Five days ago I went gluten/wheat free. I don't know if I'm a coeliac but having read a lot of things about my symptoms I feel it is the best thing for me to do. Since last posting I've diagnosed myself as having a Thyroid problem. Trying to get the doctors to admit it is almost impossible without having 'abnormal' blood tests. My TSH is 1.9 and that's apparently ok, even though it proven most thyroid patients don't feel better until there TSH comes down to at least 1. Am awaiting results of further tests however I'm not holding my breath.

I live in an area where the water is highly fluorinated. Fluoride is known to suppress the thyroid, (Years ago they treated hyperthyroid patients by bathing them in fluorinated water). Therefore if I'm suffering ill affects of fluoride it's highly likely I've got thyroid problems too. I have 76/124 classic hypothyroid symptoms. But apparently that's not enough to diagnose me.

What I have found whilst researching is that thyroid patients are recommended to eat a gluten free diet, fluoride toxicity suffers experience problems with gluten and also people who have O blood groups are prone to thyroid problems and should avoid gluten and grains!

Since I have O blood I thought everything's pointing me in the right direction and started my gluten free diet Saturday.
My following days have been very interesting.
From Day 1 I noticed no bloating in my stomach and the constant need to eat seemed to disappear. I could also breathe from my nose for the first time ever!
Day 2 was more of the same.
However Day 3 was different. Even though I felt better within myself things didn't feel right. I began to get stomach pains, and chest tightness like when I had gallstones a few years ago. I researched online and found it probably to be one of the 2 things: Either it was an allergy to a product that was in gluten free foods that I was now readily consuming. Or it was the gluten withdrawals!

Apparently gluten acts like an opiate. It blocks the brain from feeling pain. So after the first few days of your system being cleansed of gluten, the actual pain you should have been feeling all along suddenly shows itself. Not pleasant at all.

Decided to persevere for a day, however continued reading made me think twice.
Will be traveling to New York in a months time for my friends wedding. Also planning a short trip to visit my mum and sister in 10 days time. Thinking its going to be difficult to stick to my new diet in both places I should abstain for now.  Apparently once off gluten it's very difficult to go back, and seeing as I was only on day 5 and at home I thinking the side affects won't be too bad and manageable.

The other consideration was the test for coeliac disease. You need to have consumed a gluten diet for the last 6weeks in order for the test to be accurate. Since I've not yet been tested I can now have the 6weeks of eating gluten, then test when I come back.

So yesterday evening was my first time back on the gluten. And I could tell instantly there was  a problem. My stomach swelled up to at least 3 times the size. I felt very uncomfortable. This morning I awoke with a sore throat, I hadn't had one since sat. When I had some cereal I couldn't stop sneezing.

I had been feeling so much better, more energy, clearer brain altho still aching my joints are less painful. Even had a normal period! (that may be coincidence tho)

But one of most severe responses was when u had my shower today. Having suffered rashes for many years, after finding out about fluoride in water I've noticed the connection. And after showering I get rashes all over, noticeably in the places the water hits most. After having not much reaction to  Monday's shower, when I got out today my face was awful. It was bright red and swollen, sometimes it's just a few blotches today it was all over. Never before had I felt them, today it was agony. It was really sore to touch, and my lips were cracked and swollen.
All I can put this down to is that because my body is fighting off the gluten allergy is it more reactive to other contaminants like the fluoride.

So now I am concerned about the regression I know I will make.  The brain fog will return and I'll be a depressed, anxiety ridden swollen mess. However the knowledge that I just have to put up with it for 6 weeks will hopefully ease the suffering.

I still feel like everything's a bit chicken and egg. Not knowing what came first, the Thyroid problem? The Fluoride? Or was it my blood type? Or even my gallstones 3 years ago? What was the initial factor that sparked off all the others?
Answer at the moment is I really don't know. I maybe never will. But that won't stop me looking :)

Welcome to my world

Well firstly I'd like to say hello and welcome to my blog. I'll start with a little bit about me and what I'm doing here.
About 1 month ago I self diagnosed myself with Fluoride poisoning. I've been 'ill' for many years, but no matter how many specialists I see I never seem to get a proper diagnosis just a scratch of the head and you've got a mild case if this or that but there's not a lot I can do for you.
I go in with a list currently of 45 different symptoms. They seem to pick which ones are easiest to treat/diagnose then focus on that for the duration of my time with them. They never seem to be able to look at the bigger picture and connect the dots. Surely 45 symptoms can't be completely unrelated can they?

Seeing as I wasn't getting anywhere I'd been doing my own research. And I accidentally stumbled upon something that did indeed connect the dots. Fluoride poisoning. Everything fitted. Every single one of my symptoms were accounted for. Even if not directly, they were connected to a secondary problem that was caused fluoride.

The initial high of a answer after so many years was quickly toppled with the reality that there was nothing I could actually do about it. Fluoride is everywhere, with the largest source being our water. It's added to 'stop dental cavities'. Which I must admit has worked, but at what cost!
At the age if 29 I was always quite proud of of the fact I'd never had a filling. Dentists always tapped on my teeth and said how strong they were. But now that I realise my long term gum disease was probably caused by the fluoride, I'm slightly resentful at the fact in future years I'll be looking at my strong, cavity less teeth in a jar because my gums are so shot that i can't hold them in my mouth anymore! Oh the irony!

So what do I do now? Well the real answer is I don't know. I'm constantly researching on the Internet to find more information to help. So far I've started drinking bottled water, only selected types as most bottled water also contains fluoride. The best I've found are Tesco Perthshire, Highland Springs and Evian. But to be honest that's as far as I've got. I will certainly be fighting for the government to stop polluting us. And hopefully one day in my lifetime this madness will end. But for now I feel all I can do is share this information with any of you who want to listen.

For my first post I think I've said enough but give more depth in future posts, and I'll try and keep you up to date with my news as well as any relevant info along the way. I feel like this may be a long journey but hopefully it will be one that you can share with me.
